GIF Splitter
Use this GIF splitter to extract every frame from an animated GIF or choose specific frame numbers. Save them as PNG, JPG, GIF, or WebP, with multiple frames in a ZIP.
This tool requires temporary server processing. Uploaded files are automatically deleted.
Choose one GIF to upload. The file list shows its frame count, duration, and loop setting before upload. Only one GIF can be processed per run.
Choose All frames, or select Select frames and enter frame numbers or ranges. For example, 1-5, 8, 12- selects frames 1 through 5, frame 8, and frame 12 to the end. Numbers beyond the GIF’s frame count are ignored, selecting frames by clicking thumbnails isn’t available.
Choose PNG, JPG, GIF, or WebP as the output format, PNG is selected by default. Transparency is kept in PNG, GIF, and WebP. JPG uses the chosen background color for transparent areas. Quality settings for JPG and WebP range from 50% to 100%.
Run the extraction to get a separate image for each selected frame. When more than one frame is extracted, download the images together as a ZIP. Frames are fully composited with transparency and offsets applied. Each filename includes the frame number and delay in milliseconds.
Use frame numbers or ranges to extract particular moments, or choose All frames for the full sequence. The tool creates still images, not a new GIF. Frames are re-encoded from pixels, so source metadata isn’t written. Results have no added watermark or branding.
Guests can process GIFs up to 50 MB, 100 megapixels, and 300 frames, registered users, up to 100 MB, 200 megapixels, and 600 frames. Longer GIFs are rejected, and limits are admin-configurable. Only one GIF can be processed per run. Registration isn’t required, a free account raises limits and keeps download links available for 24 hours.
The GIF is uploaded and split on the server. The original is deleted after processing, results are deleted after one hour for guests or 24 hours for registered users. You can change settings and process the uploaded file again without choosing it again.
