GIF Speed Changer
Change an animated GIF’s speed with a multiplier or set one delay for every frame. Review its details and planned result before processing.
This tool requires temporary server processing. Uploaded files are automatically deleted.
Choose one GIF with at least two frames. The file list shows its frame count, duration, loop setting and planned result before upload.
Choose Speed multiplier to preserve relative frame timing. Select 0.25×, 0.5×, 1.5×, 2× or 4×, or enter 0.25×–4× in 0.05× steps. Above 1× plays faster, below 1× plays slower.
Choose Same delay for all frames to set one timing, from 20–10,000 ms in 10 ms steps. The initial value is based on average frame delay, rounded to 10 ms with a 20 ms minimum.
Under More options, keep the original loop setting or choose play once, forever, or 2, 3, 5 or 10 repeats. Run the tool to download the result as an animated GIF. Change settings and process again without selecting the file again.
Multiplier mode adjusts each frame’s delay while preserving relative timing. GIF delays are rounded to 10 ms increments, delays under 20 ms are not written and may merge into the previous frame. Total animation duration is kept, and the result shows the number of merged frames.
Only one GIF can be processed per run. Default limits are 50 MB, 100 megapixels and 300 frames for guests, and 100 MB, 200 megapixels and 600 frames for registered users. Concurrent server-job limits are 2 for guests and 4 for registered users, administrators can configure these defaults.
GIFs are uploaded for server processing, and the original is deleted after processing. Results are available for 1 hour to guests or 24 hours to registered users, then deleted. Registration is optional, a free account has higher limits. No watermark is added. The output remains an animated GIF but is re-encoded, not byte-for-byte identical. Source comments and extensions are not carried over, except the loop setting.
FAQ
What does a speed multiplier above or below 1× do?
A value above 1× makes the GIF play faster, while a value below 1× slows it down. Multiplier mode changes each frame’s delay while preserving the relative timing between frames. The available range is 0.25× to 4×.
Can I change the delay of just one frame?
No. You can use a multiplier that preserves relative frame timing, or set the same delay for every frame. Individual frame delays are not adjustable with this tool.
Why might some frames be merged?
GIF delays are rounded to 10 ms increments, and delays below 20 ms are not written. Frames that need a shorter delay may be merged into the previous frame. The total animation duration is kept, and the result shows how many frames were merged.
Can I change the loop setting or process multiple GIFs at once?
You can keep the original loop setting or choose forever, play once, or 2, 3, 5 or 10 repeats. The tool handles one GIF per run, so you cannot change several GIFs at once.
Do I need an account, and how long can I download the result?
No account is required. Guests can download the result for 1 hour, while registered users have a 24-hour download window and higher file, image-size and frame limits. The uploaded original is deleted right after processing.
