Recommended uses level 60 and 256 colors with no frame dropping. Stronger uses level 120 and 128 colors. Maximum uses level 200 and 64 colors, and keeps every second frame. You can also set the compression level from 0 to 200 in steps of 5, choose from 256, 128, 64, 32, or 16 colors, and choose to keep every second or every third frame. Changing the level, colors, or frame setting switches the preset to Custom.
Higher compression levels can make smaller files with more noise. Level 0 applies optimization only. Dithering, which can smooth gradients, is available when you choose fewer than 256 colors. Size options are 100%, 75%, and 50%, not a target file size in KB or MB.
Process and download the result. It remains a GIF. If compression does not make it smaller, the original is returned with a notice.
If you want to retain every moment of an animation, leave frame dropping off. If fewer frames are acceptable, choose Every 2nd or Every 3rd. The delays from removed frames are added to the remaining frames, so the total animation duration stays the same. The loop setting and GIF transparency are retained.
For GIFs with gradients, dithering is an option when you reduce the color count below 256. Try the 75% or 50% size setting when you want a smaller image, or leave it at 100%. These settings do not let you specify a target file size, and the amount of reduction depends on the GIF.
This tool processes one GIF per run, so it is not suited to compressing a collection at once. The tool is free, and results have no watermark or branding. The uploaded original is deleted right after server processing. Download links remain available for 1 hour for guests and 24 hours for registered users, after which the result is deleted.

Will the compressed GIF keep its animation and transparency?
Yes. The loop setting and transparency are retained. Frames are kept unless you choose to drop them. When frames are dropped, their delays are merged into the remaining frames, so the total duration stays the same.
How large can my GIF be, and can I compress several at once?
Guests can upload GIFs up to 50 MB, 100 megapixels, and 300 frames. Free account holders have limits of 100 MB, 200 megapixels, and 600 frames. Only one GIF can be processed per run, and GIFs over the frame limit are rejected.
Do I need an account, and when are uploaded files deleted?
No registration is needed. The uploaded original is deleted right after server processing. The result link is available for 1 hour for guests or 24 hours for registered users, then the result is deleted.
