Set quality from 1% to 100% (90% by default). JPG does not support transparency, so transparent areas are filled with white by default. Choose black or Color to set a custom background.
Open More options to keep original dimensions, set a width or height, or resize by percentage, proportions are maintained. Resizing is available only for browser conversion. If your browser cannot open a file, choose Convert on the server. It uploads only after you choose that option. Server conversion offers quality and background settings, but no resizing.
Use browser conversion for files your browser can open. It has no file-size limit or quota, but canvas and image-dimension limits apply: output sides max out at 16,384 pixels, with canvas limits of about 150 megapixels, or 16.7 megapixels on iPhone and iPad.
Server conversion limits each guest image to 50 MB and 100 megapixels, registered users can convert up to 100 MB and 200 megapixels per image. Server batches allow 10 files for guests or 50 for registered users, while one page run supports up to 30 files. Registration is not required, and results have no watermark.
Browser-processed files are not uploaded. If you choose server conversion, the original is deleted after processing, with safety cleanup after 60 minutes. Results are deleted after 1 hour for guests or 24 hours for registered users.
EXIF and GPS metadata are not retained, photo orientation is applied to the image pixels. Animated AVIF sequences are not supported, and output is always JPG. Change settings and process a file again without selecting it again.

Can I convert multiple AVIF files at once?
Yes. Add up to 30 files in a page run, and the same settings are applied to all of them. You can download multiple results as a ZIP. If files need server conversion, the server batch limit is 10 files for guests or 50 for registered users.
What happens to transparent areas in an AVIF?
JPG does not support transparency, so transparent areas are filled with a background. Choose white, black, or Color to set your own background color.
Can I change the JPG quality or image size?
Set quality from 1% to 100%, with 90% as the default. For browser conversion, you can keep the original size, set a width or height, or use a percentage. Proportions are maintained. Resizing is not available for server-converted files.
Are my AVIF files uploaded, and how long are server results kept?
Files converted in your browser are not uploaded. If your browser cannot open a file, you can choose server conversion, which uploads it only after you click that option. The original is deleted after processing. Results are kept for 1 hour for guests or 24 hours for registered users, then deleted.
Does the JPG keep metadata, and can it preserve AVIF animation?
EXIF and GPS metadata are not retained, and photo orientation is applied to the image pixels. Animated AVIF sequences are not supported, and the output format is always JPG.
