JPG to WEBP Converter

Select JPG files to begin. You can convert up to 20 files in one run, and the same settings will be applied to each image. No registration is needed.

Choose a Quality setting from 1–100%. The default is 85%. This controls the quality of the lossy WebP output, so choose a setting that suits how you plan to use the images.

To resize, open the size options and choose Original size, Set width, Set height, or Percentage. Proportions are kept when you set a width or height. Values range from 1 to 16384, while the output side is capped at 16383 pixels. Browser canvas limits are about 150 megapixels, or about 16.7 megapixels on iPhone and iPad.

Convert the selected files, then download results individually or use the ZIP option to get them together. The ZIP file is named jpg-to-webp.zip. Images are processed in your browser and are not uploaded.

Choose Original size when you want the WebP dimensions to match the JPG. Set a width or height when you need images to fit a particular layout, or choose Percentage to scale the image proportionally. These options can be useful when preparing photos for pages or sharing images at a smaller display size.

Quality lets you adjust the lossy output for your needs. WebP output is not lossless, and the resulting file size depends on the image and settings. If a WebP file is larger than its JPG, the tool still delivers it and suggests lowering quality. Review the converted image and its file size when choosing settings.

This converter accepts JPG input only and always produces lossy WebP. It does not create lossless WebP or preserve camera metadata. EXIF orientation is applied to the image pixels, while EXIF and GPS camera data are removed. JPG input has no transparency, so transparency is not applicable to this conversion. The free tool adds no watermark or branding to results.
