Reverse GIF
Make an animated GIF play backwards with Reverse, or forward then backward with Boomerang. Choose a loop setting and download the result.
This tool requires temporary server processing. Uploaded files are automatically deleted.
1. Select one GIF to upload, it needs at least two frames. Its frame count, duration and loop setting appear in the file list.
2. Choose Reverse to reorder frames and play backward, or Boomerang to play forward then backward. Optionally enable Repeat the first and last frame in Boomerang mode, it is off by default.
3. Choose a loop setting: As in the original, Forever, Play once, 2 times, 3 times, 5 times or 10 times.
4. Process and review the frame count, duration and loop setting, then download. Change settings and process again without reselecting the file.
Use Reverse to play a GIF backwards, such as to show an action in reverse order. Choose Boomerang for forward-then-backward playback. In Boomerang mode, the option to repeat the first and last frames is off by default, which gives the smoothest back-and-forth motion.
Reverse changes frame order, not speed: each frame keeps its delay, and speed control is unavailable. Loop choices are As in the original, Forever, Play once, 2 times, 3 times, 5 times or 10 times, 4 and 6 to 9 times are unavailable. The result is always an animated GIF. The GIF is rebuilt from pixels, and source comments and extensions are not carried over, except the loop setting. 1-bit transparency is kept.
One GIF can be processed per run. Guest limits are 50 MB, 100 megapixels and 300 frames, with 2 concurrent server jobs. Registered-user limits are 100 MB, 200 megapixels and 600 frames, with 4 concurrent jobs. No registration is required, and results have no watermark. The GIF is uploaded for server processing, the original is deleted after processing. Results are available to download for 1 hour for guests or 24 hours for registered users, then deleted.
FAQ
Can I make a GIF play forward and then backward?
Yes. Select Boomerang mode to play the GIF forward and then backward. You can also choose whether to repeat the first and last frames. That option is off by default.
Can I change the GIF's speed or choose how many times it loops?
You cannot change playback speed in this tool. Each frame keeps its own delay. To change speed, use Change GIF Speed. For looping, choose As in the original, Forever, Play once, 2 times, 3 times, 5 times or 10 times.
How many GIFs can I process, and what are the limits?
You can process one GIF per run, and it needs at least two frames. Guest limits are 50 MB, 100 megapixels and 300 frames. Registered-user limits are 100 MB, 200 megapixels and 600 frames. Concurrent server-job limits are 2 for guests and 4 for registered users.
Are uploaded files deleted, and does the result have a watermark?

What happens if my GIF has only one frame?
It cannot be reversed because there is no frame order to change. The GIF must have at least two frames.
